It’s the month of Gratitude! With Thanksgiving coming up fast, gratitude is on the brain, and for good reason! The science behind this amazing attribute is amazing and the powerful positive effects of gratitude are just- well AWESOME!

While I love the added focus on being grateful-I believe that we should be practicing an “ attitude of gratitude” all year long. And on today’s episode I’m talking all about why it’s important to be grateful and how to be more grateful everyday. So make sure to hit play and listen in to get 3 easy ways to practice gratitude.

Gratitude can help you to be happier, up to 25% happier according to a UC DAVIS study on gratitude.

Gratitude can help you be more kind and compassionate.

Gratitude increases your resilience and mental strength.

3 ways to be more grateful:

  1. Reflect. Take time to think about the things you are grateful for. Many people do this by having a gratitude journal or some kind of gratitude practice. Time where you can reflect and think about the things in your life you are grateful for. You could make this part of your morning routine or at night before you go to bed.

  2. Notice or “ Active Gratitude”: the next step after reflecting is to become more aware of your gratitude in the moment. Use your five senses to notice things you are grateful for. Set a timer. Stop. Drop. and Be Grateful. Notice the little things each day that make you laugh or smile.

  3. Express. Journals and noticing the little things more are great- but let’s take it up a notch and get that gratitude out of our heads, and out into the world. If you are grateful for someone: TELL THEM! Start to become more vocal about your gratitude and you’ll begin to notice more and more things to be grateful for.
